i bought this book mostly because i love carson's illustrations (i've posted about her before), but i ending up thoroughly enjoying the story. it was pretty epic. did not know colin was the singer from the decemberists and that they are married to each other.

i'm excited to try out a lot of the recipes, like the pork buns below. there is a momofuku milk bar cook book coming out soon too.

saw a #gameofscones tweet from katie that caught my eye and reminded me of the first time i tasted owen's amazeen cheddar biscuits. i followed her mother's recipe for biscuits this morning and they were so delish i ate 3. these ones had chives in them and i ate them with a pat of butter and blackberry jam.
